Surat Parsi Panchayat (SPP) established in 1841 stands as a beacon of hope & support for the Parsi Zoroastrian community in Surat. Since its establishment SPP is dedicated to uplifting and caring for our community through comprehensive & sustainable initiatives.
SPP is founded on the principles of compassion, dignity and empowerment & has 12 Trusts of which major Trusts are as follows:

SPP provides following services:
- Education support
At SPP we believe education is the key to a better future. We provide free schooling, scholarships, after school tutoring, vocational training programs, summer camps from primary school to university. SPP ensures that financial constraints do not hinder their educational aspirations by providing the necessary foundation to help them achieving their dreams. SPP operates 3 schools that provide quality education and fosters love for learning among the children.
- Caring for orphans
SPP runs 2 orphanages for boys & girls that provide a safe & nurturing environment for children who have lost their parents. The orphanages provide a safe & healthy environment for the overall development of children by providing shelter, clothing, education, books, tuition, nutritious meals, healthcare & the much-needed emotional support thus laying a sound foundation for their bright future.
- Healthcare initiatives
Access to healthcare should not be a privilege. SPP’s mission is to provide quality healthcare to our community. SPP operates hospital, medical facilities & services from routine check-ups to specialized treatments so that the community members do not face financial hardship while seeking the necessary medical care till their recovery. SPP also provides Physiotherapy centre for patients & outsiders of our community.
- Nutrition & Food Program
SPP operates a central kitchen providing daily nutritious meals & tiffin services. We provide free lunches to the elderly & individuals who are unable to cook for themselves. Daily tiffin services are delivered to the homes of senior citizens, bedridden & handicapped persons. We fight hunger & malnutrition ensuring that no family goes to bed hungry.
- Housing accommodation
We at SPP recognize the basis human need for safe housing. We provide affordable, comfortable & dignified living environment with necessary amenities to our community members especially the elderly & those in need.
- Employment
We offer job placement opportunities to individuals to empower them to create stable & sustainable livelihood.
- Poverty Benefit Program
SPP provides financial support to our community on Behram Roj on quarterly basis to the deserving senior citizens after a thorough scrutiny. Anaj kits are provided to the needy & deserving members of our community.
- Third Child Benefit Program
SPP provides third child financial help to parents who have three or more children for their education and betterment.
- Dokhmenashini
SPP was the only trust which fought against the Govt of India under the leadership of Late Jurist Fali Sam Nariman up to the Supreme Court & won the case for providing dokhmenashini ceremony for the departed souls during the covid time. SPP also undertakes the work of cleaning the 3 dokhmas situated at Surat Doongerwadi.
